Spring 2016 Research

In the spring of 2016, we continued the research we had started the previous year on our two Return Recycling bins.
In total, over the two studies, we sorted through 420 pounds of trash.

DIVERSION

Overall, our bins yielded an average diversion rate of 84.65%,
which is a 33.02% increase from NYU's typical rate.

ACCURACY

Overall, our bins yielded an average sorting accuracy rate of 63.53%
which is a 11.82% increase from NYU's typical rate.

COMPOSITION

Overall, our bins reduced liquid content in the solid waste stream by 49.47%.
